Health hour

supported by:

Health Hour is a project aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and physical, mental, and social well-being among primary school students. The project includes educational content and tools developed in line with the curricular framework for the "Health Education" subject and is developed with the support of the Regina Maria Network.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

Applied learning activities and experiences, with their role in stimulating self-awareness, reflective thinking and experiential learning, encourage primary school students to gain healthy attitudes and habits and a customized understanding of the concept of healthy living.

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

Health Hour provides teachers and students with access to 24 educational contents and tools that facilitate the inclusion of Health Education in the primary school timetable in an integrated approach: exercise, nutrition, personal care and disease prevention.

The contents are structured according to the working skills and level of understanding of the 6-8 (Health Hour 1) and 9-10 (Health Hour 2) age groups and are based on an educational kit which includes a teacher's guide and worksheets for students.

Learning, practicing positive behaviors and developing a responsible attitude towards health are achieved through analysis and reflective thinking, teamwork, creativity and identifying solutions, logical thinking, planning and organization.

The Health Hour project has been part of JA Romania's educational offer since the 2020-2021 school year.

"The Health Hour provided a lot of interactive resources and gave my students a broad overview of how to prevent illness through healthy eating, sport and spending their free time in various ways and as far away from SMART screens as possible.“
